My latest WordPress website for Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County.

This new HTML5 website replaces a slow-loading, template-based site that staff had trouble updating. The new WordPress site includes a built-in e-commerce section for donations, a consistent look for club chapters, and an online event manager – as well as improved on-page search optimization and better accessibility.

Great websites start here.

Valley Cities contacted us to redesign their antiquated website. Previously, staff managed over 100 mental health groups and classes for four locations through a cumbersome database, which was difficult for visitors to navigate. Now, using WordPress, staff can add, edit and remove event activities easily from any web browser. And the events are easier for users to find and provide clearer, more helpful information.

A font-resizer helps low vision visitors. And seven customizable widgets allow staff to promote a variety of important messages, like the 24-hour crisis line and fundraising events. To keep costs down, Valley Cities published most of its own site content. This step allowed our team to focus on accessibility, branding, database development, design, information architecture, and usability.

My latest collaborative website project for the Washington Dental Service Foundation’s Access to Baby & Child Dentistry program. This re-branded site includes a fresh logo and updated color palette by David Owen Hastings, a password-protected online toolkit for dental coordinators, and an online database of ABCD-certified dentists. Powered by WordPress, of course.

Scott has worked on two websites for us. As a non-profit organization we rely on websites to help us connect with partners and get our message out. WordPress allows a lot of flexibility and Scott is great with suggestions for optimum performance. We are so pleased with his responsiveness and expertise. Laura Smith – Washington Dental Service Foundation, President & CEO

Working Well With WordPress

Living well with vision loss requires accessible websites. My latest WordPress project for SightConnection (formerly Community Services for the Blind) includes a high contrast design by David Owen Hastings, convenient font-resizing, as well as a text-only stylesheet.

The text-only stylesheet replaces a previous text-version of the website, which hurt search engine rankings by publishing duplicate content to the same domain.

Scott Marlow came to us upon a recommendation of our graphic designer, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the work he did for us! Scott worked closely with us to not only develop our new website at SightConnection.org, but also to teach us all the inner workings. As a not-for-profit organization we are always concerned about costs, but under Scott’s guidance the project came in on time and on budget. The launch went smoothly and we love our new website! We look forward to working with Scott on other projects as we implement our new brand and look. I highly recommend Scott to anyone looking to develop and implement a website.
