Your Partner for Accessible Websites

PAVE responsive website

Client: PAVE

Scope of Work:
Front-end web development, Performance optimization, Rebranding, Security hardening, Visual redesign, WCAG 2.0 Accessibility

Team: Scott Marlow, Tami Vileta

The Challenge

Partnership for Action, Voices for Empowerment (PAVE) and the Military Parent Technical Assistance Center needed to modernize their websites to meet WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards. Simultaneously, the organization needed a more authentic visual brand to resonate with their clients: military and civilian parents and caregivers who advocate for children and youth with disabilities.

The Solution

Our team completely re-branded and refreshed their 2 websites. Starting with a deep-dive discovery process, Pinpoint took committees from both organizations through a collaborative process to arrive at a vibrant new look and feel for each site that provided a better user experience while maintaining rigorous accessibility standards.

Bike Works mobile responsive website

Scope of Work:
Front-end web development, Performance optimization, Rebranding, Security hardening, Visual redesign

Team: Penniless Projects, Scott Marlow

The Challenge

To rebrand the existing nonprofit’s WordPress website affordably.

The Results

To keep costs affordable, we built the new site design using the same HTML5 mobile responsive 2012 child theme (based on _Underscores). New full browser-bleed headers featuring custom photography help modernize the look and feel. While readability was optimized with an 1,100 pixel wide 2-column grid layout. Bold custom fonts and colors help distinguish the youthful brand.

Mobile Responsive Web Development: Scott Marlow

This web redesign project for EFESTĒ winery involved migrating site content from a static, fixed width WordPress site and a separate mobile responsive blog into a single, cohesive mobile responsive Theme.

The new site features font icons for improved page load speed; an improved, branded event calendar; and online forms for tour and charitable donation requests.

Thanks for a successful launch!
Nancy Croisier, CSW, Marketing Manager

The new website homepage loads in the top 15% tier of tested sites, with a 658 Kb page size – above Google’s recommended 300 Kb maximum, but well below the 2015 industry average of ~1.95 Mb. This means the site works better for mobile visitors, and has an improved chance of conversions.

To celebrate its 125th anniversary, Ladies Musical Club of Seattle worked with us to redesign their static ‘fixed width’ website into a mobile responsive Content Management System (powered by WordPress – the most popular open source CMS in the world).

The new site features rich, custom photography and videography; and a public concert event calendar. Volunteers can now add and edit content, including events.

So exciting! A huge thanks to you and David for the beautiful layout, design, your knowledge and patience while guiding us through! … There is more work ahead, more to learn, but let’s take a big breath and delight in this huge milestone!  Wow, just wow!
Claudia McCormick-Kester, Vice President of Communications

The new site also loads among the top 10% of tested sites.

More site features are planned for the future.
